The Slovak soprano, Stanislava Mihalcová, studied at the Žilina Conservatory in Slovakia in Emília Sadloňová’s class and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Magdaléna Hajossyová’s class. She took part at classic courses at Magdalena Nador in The Summer Academy in Baden and Baroque interpretation courses with Marius van Altena and Julie Hassler. During her studies she absolved semester at The North Netherlands Conservatoire in Groningen.

In 2011 she won the first prize in the International singing competition in Karlovy Vary in song field, with the special awards of Czech Radio and Antonín Dvořák’s Muzeum.

Stanislava Mihalcová has mainly performed classical and baroque music, with songs forming a significant part of her repertoire. She pursues intensive vocalist concert activity in cooperation with several chamber ensembles and instrumental vocalists focusing mostly on baroque music like Musica Florea (dir. Marek Štryncl), Collegium Marianum (Jana Semerádová), Ensemble Inégal (Adam Viktora), Collegium Vocale 1704 (Václav Luks), Hipocondria Ensemble (Jan Hádek), Collegium Vocale Gent (Philippe Herreweghe) and Cappella Augustana (Matteo Messori), which are also frequent guests of domestic and foreign festivals (Prague Spring, Concentus Moraviae, Lípa Musica, St. Wenceslas Festival Ostrava, Musiekcenter DeBijloke Gent, Festival d’Ambronay, Festival de Sablé and La Chaise Dieu in France, Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Resonanzen in Vienna, Salzburg Festival in Austria, Festival de Música Sacra de Bilbao in Spain and others).

Within the Chamber Opera Prague she sang in opera of W. A. Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro in the role of Susanna in Germany and France, she has also participated at Gluk´s opera Le Cinesi (Sivene), Julius Zeyer’s melodrama Radúz and Mahulena at the National Theatre in Prague, where she also appeared in Handel’s opera Rinaldo in role Sirena/Donna with cooperation of Grand Théatre in Luxemburg, Opéra de Rennes and the Opéra Royal de Versailles, then Monteverdi’s Combattimento in Znojmo music festival and his opera Orfeo and Coronation of Poppea (Viru/Drusilla) in 2018-2021 in Plzeň theatre

About The Class

The class is open for students and professionals. We will work on the style and technique of Italian or German Baroque repertoire.

Suggested Repertoire

Any repertoire from 16th-18th century, brought by the participant. I prefer the works of J. S. Bach, G. F. Händel, A. Vivaldi or J. J. I. Brentner. It would be interesting to work on the songs of J. S. Bach and his sons (C. P. E Bach or Johann Ch. Friedrich Bach).
