Jana Anýžová
Baroque violinStudied violin at the P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž and at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno. In 2000 she completed a year of study at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, followed by a full-time study of Baroque violin with Prof. Anton Steck.
Masterclasses with personalities such as R. Podger, J. Holloway, S. Ritchie, R. Gwilt and L. U. Mortensen further deepened her interest.
While still a student, she began to perform in several Czech and foreign ensembles: Concerto Köln, Die Kölner Akademie, L’arte del Mondo, Ensemble 1700, Capella Coloniensis, Capella Augustina, Ensemble Tourbillon, Deutsche Händel Solisten, Musica sacra Basel, La Cetra Basel, with which she won the Diapason d’Or award for her live recording of Antonio Sartorio’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto. She now collaborates regularly with the predominantly Czech ensembles Collegium 1704, Musica Florea, Ensemble Inégal, Czech Ensemble Baroque.
In addition to Quartetto Eisenberg, which focuses mainly on works from the Classical period, she is the founder of the Cadenza Ensemble, with which she won first prize at the Alte-Musik-Treff competition in Berlin and second prize at the international Heinrich-Schmelzer-Wettbewerb competition in Melk. The CadenzaEnsemble focuses mainly on early baroque music.
Since 2008, she has also been teaching at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen for several years, where she taught baroque violin.
About The Class
The course is designed for advanced players of the baroque violin. Also welcome are modern violin players who are interested in historical performance practice and would like to apply its rules to playing a modern instrument. Neither a baroque instrument nor a baroque bow is a prerequisite. At least E gut string is welcome. Tuning to 415 Hz is a prerequisite.
Suggested Repertoire
During the course, participants are entitled to three 45-minute lessons, which can be used for solo or chamber music, provided that player brings complete sheet music (including continuo) to be used in the lesson and secures the accompaniment.
