Michaela Ambrosi

Michaela Ambrosi is a flute and recorder player, pedagogue and music researcher. As a soloist, chamber and orchestral player, she has performed on many European stages and festivals. She graduated at the Prague Conservatoire, Charles University in Prague, Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Conservatorio di Verona and at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. She received a doctorate at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno where she also established herself as a traverso teacher. Michaela works as an editor of eighteenth-century sheet music by neglected Bohemian composers. Notably, she recorded some of these compositions for the Czech Radio, and in 2020, her debut CD named “Jiří Čart / Georg Czarth – Forgotten Flute Sonatas“ was published in cooperation with Radioservis.

About The Class

The class will be open for players at all skill levels – from the ones who recently started playing the traverso up to advanced flutists who need to focus and practice particular aspects of their playing.

Suggested Repertoire

Repertoire of the class will be focused on pieces by German composers. Advanced students are encouraged to bring different piece for each lesson including one of the Telemann’s Fantasia. Students with classical flute can prepare e.g., Rondo for flute and piano by F. X. Mozart. Beginners can bring their own music to study from any composer as well as to ask the lector beforehand for some tips on the repertoire. The essential sheet music will be available onsite.
