Luise Haugk was born into a musical family in Erfurt, Germany, and studied modern oboe at the Spezialschule für Musik in Dresden, the Hochschule für Musik Carl-Maria von Weber in Dresden and the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. During her studies she became interested in historical performance practice and from 2003-2005 she studied baroque oboe with Alfredo Bernardini at the Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam. While studying baroque oboe, Luise Haugk began to collaborate with various ensembles focused on historical performance practice, such as Lauttencompagney Berlin, Dresdner Barockorchester, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln, English Baroque Soloists, Collegium 1704, Elbipolis and Les Amis de Philippe. As a freelance musician and soloist, she has performed throughout Europe and in Japan. She has also made numerous radio broadcasts and CD recordings. In February 2010 she recorded Antonín Reichenauer’s Oboe Concerto with the Czech ensemble Musica Florea. Luise Haugk lives in Dresden and has two sons.

We work on baroque oboes quality of sound, phrasing, ornamentation, articulation, fingerings, breathing, intonation control, dynamics, reeds… All these topics are studied based on the inspiring oboe repertoire of the 18th century solo and chamber music pieces.

Suggested Repertoire

French, Italian, mixed (German) style repertoire from end of 17th till middle of 18th century, classical music too, if there is an suitable instrument.
