About The Class

Class intended for the already advanced young violinists who would like to learn about the historically informed performance of mainly Baroque and Classical music.

Baroque bows and – for the courageous ones – the half-tone lower pitch (415 Hz) are welcome.

Kids can attend the Children’s orchestra class as well because this class will take place both in the morning and in the afternoon.

Suggested Repertoire

Easy Baroque pieces with harpsichord or complete figured bass accompaniment (such as slow movements from G. F. Händel‘s, G. Ph. Telemann‘s, A. Vivaldi‘s or A. Corelli’s sonatas).
A. Vivaldi’s concertos (a choice of those played at the art schools) with harpsichord accompaniment (piano score)
Short chamber pieces, such as G. Ph. Telemann’s Canonic Sonatas for two violins, W. A. Mozart‘s 12 easy duets
The compositions should correspond with the pupil’s level, so that application of at least some elements of historically informed performance would be possible (small embellishments, various types of bowing, phrasing…)
