Brass ensemble

Graduated from the Kroměříž Church Conservatoire and the Masaryk Unioversity, Brno (musicology). Since 2004 he is teaching at the Bedřich Kozánek Art School in Přerov, where he founded the brass ensemble Věžní hudba (Tower Music) and is a leader of the Dětský orchestr (Cildren’s Orchestra). He regularly attends metodology courses and seminars, as well as the Valtice International Summer School of Early Music (since 1992). He started there as a member of the children‘s ensemble class, lead for years by Lubomír Novák, who set for him an example. He dedicated himself to historically informed interpretation of early music and period instruments, co-worked with Musica figuralis and the Czech Ensemble Baroque, studied clarino trumpet with Igor Cecoch and Laszlo Preda. He is also interested in jazz, is a member of the ensemble Jazz Bond, and several times took part in Karel Velebný‘s Summer Jazz Workshop. At the Přerov Art School he leads big band, with which he regularly takes part in festivals and music parades at home and abroad.

About The Class

The brass band will co-operate with the Children’s Orchestra class, it will also play fanfares before the evening concerts, and compositions taken out from the Valtice znělky (Valtice fanfares), written by the long-time course member and today a recognised composer Jan Matásek.

Adult players are also welcome.
