Graduated from the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague (Music & Czech Language and Literature). She continued her studies at a private school of music therapy and broadened her skills at various seminars. In Příbram, where she works as a music teacher and choirmaster, she has founded school-classes with extended musical education. She regularly performs with her children‘s choirs and participates in various festivals. She sings and plays with the ensemble Chairé, which performs mostly early music on period instruments. At Valtice, besides her children‘s class, she leads the morning singing exercises. She is a long-time member of the Czech Orff Society.

Bohumíra Cveklová

Studied at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University and Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and further privately with Jarmila Kroeschlová, Jarmila Jeřábková and others. As a solo dancer and/or choreographer she worked for several Public Schools of Arts, in Libčice and Prague, where she also founded an ensemble of historical dance, Pavana. From the 1970s she worked as expert-adviser for dance education in the Pedagogical Research Institute and further as member of various expert-groups and research institutes. She is also author of methodological texts for dance education in Public Schools of Arts.

About the class:

The children class is open for both girls and boys, from 6 to 14 years. The scope of activity is singing, motion and simple folk and historical dances. (Children younger than 6 years might be accepted only upon agreement with the teachers. Children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult person during the whole course.)

By the end of the course, there will be a children’s concert, combining songs, movement and dances Children should have light clothes (sleeveless T-shirts and skirts for girls, T-shirts and light trousers for boys). The footwear should also be light, no heavy jogging shoes!
