Gustavo Gargiulo

Gustavo Gargiulo was born in 1982. He studied trumpet in his native city, Buenos Aires, where he was a member of several groups and orchestras. His inclination to early music led him to study the baroque trumpet. In 2004, he started cornett studies after taking a master class with Lene Langballe (Denmark). Between 2005 and 2008, he studied at the Centre de Musique Ancienne of Genève (Switzerland) with Professor William Dongois. In 2012 he finished his studies of specialization at the CNR Conservatoire de Paris with Professor Jean Tubery.

Frequently, he collaborates with the following groups: Capella Mediterranea (Switzerland), Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin (Deutschland), Elyma (Switzerland), Clematis (Belgium), Akademia (Fr) Barroca del Suquia (Argentina), Norske Wind Ensemble (Norway) under the conduction of Leonardo Garcia, Rene Jacobs, Jean Tubery, Francoise Laserre, Gabriel Garrido and Manfredo Kraemer.

With these and other groups, he has performed at manifold locations such as churches, palaces, museums and festivals among others in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia,Brazil, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Croatia, Malta, and India. He has taken part in 15 recordings for the labels Harmonia-Mundi (Fr / D), Ricercare (Be), Semplice (Lt), Blue-Art (Arg). He is building up pedagogic programs in Argentina (Iuna, Promusica), Brasil (Universidad Estatal de Campinas, Universidade de São Paulo), Chile (Univerdidad de Viña del Mar), Lithuania (Festivals at Granduche’s Palace) and at Ambronay’s European Baroque Academy (France), Crescendo Summer Institute (Hungary)
